Handling hundreds of orders daily, it integrates barcode scanning and real-time verification to minimize errors and improve efficiency. By automating key steps in the packing process, Order Packed optimizes workflow and ensures seamless operations at scale.

Introduction

Originally developed as a functional MVP, Order Packed needed refinement to support the boutique’s rapid growth. The client wanted to upgrade the system through a structured UX process, ensuring it could scale efficiently while improving usability and fulfillment operations.

I began with stakeholder interviews to understand business goals and pain points, followed by qualitative research, field studies, and user interviews to assess daily workflows. These insights shaped a user-centered strategy to enhance functionality and streamline fulfillment processes.

With research findings in hand, I developed wireframes to map out and refine key solutions. Working closely with stakeholders, I optimized user flows and introduced quality-of-life improvements to enhance efficiency. At the same time, I collaborated with developers to ensure seamless integration with shipping systems, aligning the platform with operational and third-party requirements.

creative direction

To define the visual direction, I created a mood board and conducted stakeholder interviews to align on the UI vision. Once we landed on a dark mode aesthetic, I designed a high-fidelity prototype while simultaneously building a robust design system. From typography and iconography to UI components, I crafted a cohesive and scalable interface that balanced usability with a modern, polished look.

Once the design phase was approved, I finalized the design system and high-fidelity prototype for handoff to external developers. I provided a clear roadmap to guide efficient development while ensuring flexibility for iterative improvements. This approach allowed the team to refine system features as needed without costly redesigns, keeping the platform adaptable and scalable.

conclusion

Order Packed successfully launched during the height of COVID, meeting a surge in demand and ensuring seamless order fulfillment when it mattered most. The platform remains the boutique’s primary fulfillment system, enabling efficiency at scale and playing a key role in the company’s continued growth and expansion.
